I got some really, really, really good vibes from this.
Please take the time to pausse my video if you must read the text, some of it kind of surprised me by how clever it is. Like, whenever I see a... an anything really, be it a show or a book or whatever, whenever I see anything talking about its own sense of humour I tend to be really weary. But I dunno, I think this game pulls off self-aware pretty well!

Also yes. I dunno. I just love the vibe!

If anyone thinks that playing on difficulty 3 instead of 2 would bring anything 'more' other than inflated enemy stats or whatever, please tell me before it's too late!

Internet peeps, I have started a thread project, for the thread of this run, where I want to compile the name of all the games that have some ressource of some kind lifted. Please go contribute if you want! However, PLEASE stick to things we have seen in videos. As silly as it sounds, I don't want to be 'spoiled' in regards to what in this game will be used. It's just so potentially crazy, I want to be surprised, haha~

Ahhh. I was afraid this was going to happen.

So this video isn't very great mainly because there's a lot of figuring out what I can or cannot do. Basically figuring out the limits of jer/allan up there. The thing is, I'm STILL not convinced that I cannot not get those things in donut plains and toad town, but I just can't figure out why. It's so madening when it's so close, but the controles are very tight, it's not the sort of controle you can sort of 'nudge' so ahhhh panic time. I do realise now, though , that in the last area I do the items that I didn't get could probably be gotten by falling down from above, but I was in 'let's end this for today' sort of mode.

Ah well!

I really, really like this level. Although yeah, even though dashing is probably safer I'm just a ton more comfortable jumping obstacles, and actually am having success with that, so.... yes!

So peeps who got my feed message or read the forum know that something terrible happened and Camtasia ate my DT footage yesterday. I managed to salvage... something. But as you can see, it's not, uhm.... it's weird. This is exactly what I got (minus the last five seconds), unedited in anyway. It's hilarious desynched, and also misses like two third of the total footage.

Which, you know is unfortunate. However, with this, you all should be able to get a gist of my first reactions and whatnot. If you don't want to deal with that, though, I'll be re-doing this bit tomorrow thanks to the INCREDIBLE help of some of you out there.

Yup, peeps have gone in the trouble of replaying the game to get me a save file back at this boss! That's just craziness, but man, I love you guys for it. Let's hope tomorrow goes better!

People who want to have a good time should probably think about ending the video prematuraly about... around the time where I seriously am trying to get up to that star door.

Now, I want to explain something. The fact that it is difficult isn't what upsetted me. It's the fact that I didn't know if the difficult thing I was doing is the right one. You know? I have a history of spending a lot of energy on 'the wrong thing', and the dawning realisation that this could be the case kind of overwhelmed me.

And we saw the results, hahaha~

This is a tricky thing to do pull off, in terms of game design, I think. Like, the balance of making a section hard to attain, give a sort of feedback that you are trying the right thing, while at the same time not spelling out the solution either. I'm not sure how I'd do this myself.

So yes. I kind of.. insist on doing these things because from what I heard this sort of nonsense will become part of the 'real' game soon enough and not stuff for side reward, so it's better to get an early practice!
